The $5.5 million building project includes a 32,000 square-foot all-digital multiplex theatre with 10 screens and eventual plans to expand to 14. The cinema can seat up to 1,200 people in the leather high-back chairs and stadium-style seating and has the only Large Format Screen (35′ by 60′) in the Upper Peninsula. Marquette Cinema 10 also has a party room for birthdays, corporate events, meetings for celebrations of any kind and an intimate auditorium with all VIP seating available for rent.
There is a view of a Lake Superior. The design of the cinema building showcases the region’s reputation for mining and timbering as well as its geography. The Lobby carpet is a beautifully detailed, 17th century styled map of the Upper Peninsula, with all three Thomas Theatre locations (Iron Mountain, Escanaba, and now Marquette) marked by red stars. The cinema includes a “drive-up” window for ticketing sales and concessions.
